Keene State College has been committed to preparing future educators since 1909. Keene State College Educator Preparation Programs designed our curriculum to be grounded in our Missions and Values as well as to align with both national and state standards. As of October 2022, Keene State College is nationally accredited through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and has continuously maintained accredited recognition since 1954.
Our Educator Preparation Programs continuously value the accreditation process of reflection and improvement through reviewing our assessments, outcomes, assignments, clinical experiences, and data as part of our preparing the next generation of educators to effectively impact today’s students and schools.
Keene State College Educator Preparation Programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and the National Association of Schools of Music.
Additionally, all EP Programs have approval from the New Hampshire State Board of Education and the New Hampshire Council for Teacher Education (NHCTE).
Keene State College educator preparation programs require students to complete thoughtfully designed and incrementally challenging experiences.
Clinical work begins with observation and analysis in early clinical experiences and moves to complete responsibility for the professional role in clinical practice.
In partnership with area schools and clinical educators, Keene State College educator preparation programs create scaffolded clinical experiences that are developmentally designed so pre-service teachers grow into professional educators ready to lead their own classrooms. Clinical experiences span from foundational course experiences to methods/practicum to student teaching at the undergraduate level and internships for our graduate students.
The Southwest Center for Educator Support (SW Center) is the professional development component of Keene State Educator Preparation programs, and collaborates with educators and schools across the region and state to provide professional learning opportunities. We offer a variety of services to expand the knowledge and capacity of educators and administrators.
